Meet the Steering Committee

Metropolis St. Louis is governed by an eleven-member Steering Committee. The steering committee consists of four officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer), three other administrative positions (Fundraising, Marketing, Membership), and three Project Group Chairs (Policy/Leadership, Living Environment/Perception, and Social Events).

This steering committee serves as the Board of Directors for Metropolis. They attend regular Steering Committee meetings (usually held on the first and third Wednesday of each month) at which they determine policy and evaluate project proposals.

Meet Our Project Chairs and Coordinators

Wine Club Coordinator-Suzanne Moak
wineclub@mstl.org
I’m a strong City supporter and have chosen to live and work in urban environments most of my adult life. I’ve been a member of Metropolis since 1998 and have run the Wine Club event since 2001, after serving several terms as Social Events Chair, producing a large number of events for the organization over the years.

My day job is working as a Human Resources Specialist for the Gateway Arch. And in my spare time, I volunteer for a number of Arts organizations, St. Louis International Film Festival, the Missouri Botanical Garden, and Earth Day. I also attend a lot of networking events, watch a lot of films, and love to go on the monthly tours of rehabbed historic buildings and neighborhoods organized by Revitalize St. Louis.

My personal mission for the Wine Club event is to introduce people to unique venues and neighborhoods in the City of St. Louis that most people aren’t aware of such as lofts, rehabbed homes, historic buildings, theatres, recording studios, art galleries, new businesses, and new event venues. It’s also a social networking event, with a little wine education thrown in. It’s developed the reputation of being a very friendly and welcoming event for diverse groups of people, with new guests attending each month. Check out the calendar each month to learn the location, theme and details of that month’s event.

Architectural Tours Coordinator- Leslie Proud

I have been involved in Metropolis for about three years, and I am excited about the new directions we are taking with the Architecture Tours. I have always enjoyed the city, and one of my favorite pastimes is driving or biking around various neighborhoods because I love exploring and sharing what I've found with other people. If you have not yet been on a walking tour of Downtown, please come out and join us on a Saturday between April and October!

Some other things I enjoy are: The Walk, trying new restaurants, dancing, taking road trips, and robot related merchandise.
